Cabin Devos
A live show where David Tubirye invites and interviews this world‘s best speakers on topics you may hear about on the pulpit. One anonymous Reviewer said, ”I think the content is great. It is well thought through and thoroughly prepared. Honestly, I‘ve not seen a consistent Ugandan Christian podcast like Cabin devos. The first time I listened in I knew by the end of the podcast that this was the right place to be. But most importantly, it is the sound gospel/doctrine that is being preached.”

To what level should we let others into our lives?
See, the issue is we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God
So, where does one get the audacity from to tell me about the sin I have committed as if they are without sin?
Prophet Nathan rebuked David. In the end we are glad that God sent a Nathan.
Question: Who is your Nathan? Who is your David?

Wednesday Dec 01, 2021
Wednesday Dec 01, 2021
There is a major debate of whether or not success is luck.
Being ranked 11th unluckiest man means alot of bad stuff has happened.
But Erik, "all things work out together for the good" is real and it is real for us too.
May be we just do not see it.

We have for the last 2 episodes been talking about relationships and of course the area of purity has to come up. It is such a hot topic that we are doing 2 parts for it. And today is going to be a special focus on this young man devoid of understanding. (“devoid of understanding” is a very polite way of saying, “you are Dense! My friend!” )
But today is not about insulting people but I believe the Bible uses such phrases to emphasise a major point. Where there is wisdom, there is also “un-wiseness” and this is one of those cases.
The passage says in verse 22 “All at once he followed herlike an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
little knowing it will cost him his life.” - Proverbs 7: 22
I’m not the main speaker today but I would like to make a point for anyone hear that thinks “that can never be me” - You are “little knowing.”
Some one may ask, “At what point did this young man turn foolish? What was his first mistake? At what point should he have turned around”
First, his first mistake we don’t know, was he always foolish? Possible but still not sure. I don’t want to believe that tis was his first compromise. This was the compromise that finally cost him his life
Secondly, At what point should he have turned around? I also want to believe that for a breath he took, right there with him was an opportunity to turn around.

In this episode we are once again joined by Pr. Sam Ithiga as we try to return to the true meaning of purity.
He also answers a question asked by an imaginary young man that thought sexual struggles would stop once he is married. To the one that has "blown it" this episode delivers hope from the assurances we have in God's word.
Enjoy!

We naturally feel that if we think something, it must be true because it comes from within us. But just because you think something does not make it true. As I said above, I have seen the face of mental illness. So many different suggestions can come into the mind. The world puts suggestions in our minds that are false, and we are bombarded with those false ideas all the time. And, of course, Satan makes suggestions all the time. But your problem is much deeper than Satan. Everybody has a mental illness. We are all mentally ill. The mental illness is called sin. And the Bible uses at least a dozen different phrases for the condition of our minds under sin. Our minds are:
confused (Deuteronomy 28:20)
anxious, closed (Job 17:3–4)
evil, restless (Ecclesiastes 2:21–23)
rash, deluded (Leviticus 5:4; Isaiah 32:4 NIV)
The Bible talks about:
a troubled mind (2 Kings 6:11)
a depraved mind (1 Timothy 6:5)
a sinful mind (Romans 8:7 NIV)
a dull mind (2 Corinthians 3:14 NIV)
a blinded mind (2 Corinthians 4:4)
a corrupt mind (2 Timothy 3:8)
Our Broken Minds
Link
Our minds are broken by sin. Which means we cannot trust even what we think, ourselves. Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” We have an amazing ability to lie to ourselves. You do it all the time.

It is unrelenting, and it is unfair because Satan never plays fair. And the reason why it is so intense is that your greatest asset is your mind.
When Paul said, ""For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing." alot is revealed.
One of the revelations in those verses is the concept of failure. Our minds sometimes just can not handle failure.
